First Glimpse of Red Bull’s 2024 F1 Challenger Revealed in Spy Shots

9 months ago By Sports Desk

The Red Bull RB20, which will start in the 2024 Formula 1 season, was first seen in spy shots during the Silverstone shakedown. The preview of the car reinforces expectations about what the team can expect next season, especially given Red Bull’s reputation for not revealing specific technical details until the last minute.Red Bull technical director Adrian Neoui recently announced that the RB20 is the third evolution of the original RB18 concept, introducing an approach that has proven successful in ground effects. Shocking footage suggests the team won’t deviate too much from a previously successful formula, but as always, uncertainty will hold back any final changes made before the season starts. The RB20 was spotted at Silverstone during a test shoot, a day before its official launch.

Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez were in charge of driving, giving an early look at the performance and capabilities of the new car. It is important to note that the film tests comply with the new F1 regulations for 2024, which allow a total driving distance of 400 km, double the previous season. The Silverstone event highlighted Red Bull’s reputation for exceeding final specifications, meaning the RB20 spotted during the shakedown may just be the release version. With next week’s pre-season test in Bahrain, the team could make a number of changes before the official start of the season.Images taken during the shakedown reveal some specifics, but it’s clear that Red Bull chose not to release all the cards at this early stage. The car received a new aerodynamic design, retaining the team’s distinctive colors.

The uncertainty surrounding the RB20 has been heightened by allegations of infighting against Red Bull team principal Christian Horner, which is still being investigated by parent company Red Bull GmbH. Horner’s participation in the event highlights a team that is balancing situational complexity, internal issues and athletic commitments.

As the 2024 F1 season approaches, expectations will increase for Red Bull’s performance and potential innovations for the RB20. Fans will have to wait for the official release and subsequent tests to fully understand what the team has in store for this year.
