Casey Stoner’s Title-Winning MotoGP Bike Auctioned for Hefty Sum

7 months ago By Sports Desk

One of the most memorable moments in MotoGP history is about to be relived through an exciting auction. The legendary Ducati bike that carried Casey Stoner to victory in the 2007 championship is now up for sale for £413,000.

Stoner’s GP7 is more than just a racing machine; He is a symbol of motor sports. Equipped with a powerful 799 cc, 90 degree DOHC V4 engine, this motorcycle can reach a top speed of at least 300 km/h. Furthermore, it is in perfect working order, thanks to the careful care of an experienced technician over the years.

The 2007 season was a milestone in Stoner’s career and in Ducati’s MotoGP history. In the same year, he won the long-awaited champion title, defeating strong rivals such as Dani Pedrosa and Valentino Rossi. Furthermore, Stoner’s victory helped Ducati win the manufacturer’s title, placing the Italian brand at the top of the racing world.

However, despite the success of 2007, this season also marked the beginning of a challenging period for Ducati. After Stoner’s win, the team struggled to repeat the same level of success. It took them 15 years before they won the Champions title again, this time with Francesco Bagnaia in 2022.

In addition to Stoner’s Ducati, there is another MotoGP treasure available for auction: Loris Capirossi’s 2003 Ducati. For just £295,000, enthusiasts can purchase this piece of sporting history. Capirossi’s GP3 was the first Ducati motorcycle to compete in MotoGP and marked the beginning of a legendary journey in the category.

In short, this auction offers a unique opportunity for MotoGP enthusiasts and motorcycle collectors to purchase authentic pieces from the sport’s history. Stoner’s Ducati and Capirossi’s Ducati are more than just racing machines; They witness the most exciting and unforgettable moments of MotoGP.
