Lewis Hamilton Addresses Rumors of Gresini MotoGP Team Purchase

3 months ago By Sports Desk

Lewis Hamilton, the renowned Formula 1 driver, recently addressed rumors about a potential purchase of the Gresini MotoGP team. The speculation arose from reports suggesting that Hamilton was interested in acquiring either part or all of the Italian team, sparking interest among fans and experts in the world of motorcycling.

During an interview at the British Grand Prix, Hamilton dismissed the rumors and clarified his position. “There are no plans to buy Gresini MotoGP,” said the seven-time F1 world champion. “I have seen the rumors circulating, but I can confirm that I am not involved in any negotiations or intention to acquire a MotoGP team.”

The rumors gained traction due to Hamilton’s growing interest in expanding his involvement in motorsport beyond Formula 1. In recent years, Hamilton has shown increasing interest in motorcycle racing and has attended MotoGP events as a spectator and supporter. However, this does not translate into an intention to buy a team.

Hamilton also commented on how purchasing a MotoGP team could influence his career and personal projects. “I have deep respect for MotoGP and the teams that compete in the category, like Gresini. Their passion and commitment to the sport are impressive, but my main priority remains my career in Formula 1 and my projects outside of racing,” Hamilton explained.

Gresini MotoGP, currently competing with Ducati, is one of the historic teams in MotoGP, known for its strong performance and tradition in the sport. The speculation about a potential purchase generated significant interest among MotoGP and F1 fans, but according to Hamilton, there is no basis for these discussions.

Hamilton further highlighted that, while he is always open to exploring new opportunities and expanding his horizons, his primary focus remains on his current work in Formula 1 and his parallel activities, such as his involvement in social and environmental issues.

“I am grateful for all the opportunities I have had and continue to focus on what I do best. At the moment, that is competing in Formula 1 and supporting causes that are important to me,” Hamilton concluded.

With this, Hamilton has clarified the situation and dispelled rumors about his potential entry into the MotoGP world as a team owner, reaffirming his commitment to his career and current interests.
