1 years ago By Sports Desk

MotoGP enthusiasts, rev up your engines because the 2023 Catalan Grand Prix continues today in Barcelona. If you’re eager to know when the practices kick off on this exciting Saturday, we’ve got all the details for you.

Morning Practice: 9:10 AM (BST) 1:40 PM (IST)

The action-packed day begins with the morning practice session at 9:10 a.m. BST. This practice session provides riders with another opportunity to fine-tune their setups and strategies. With the track conditions evolving, these sessions are vital for teams and riders to make those crucial last-minute adjustments.

Qualifying 1: 9:50 AM (BST), 2:20 PM (IST)

Following the morning practice, at 9:50 AM BST, Qualifying 1 (Q1) takes place. Q1 is where riders who didn’t make it into the top ten during free practice sessions get a chance to fight for a spot in the elite Qualifying 2 (Q2) session. The stakes are high in Q1, as only the top two riders will advance to Q2, where they’ll compete for pole position.

Qualifying 2: 10:15 AM (BST), 14:45 PM (IST)

Right after Q1, at 10:15 AM BST, Qualifying 2 (Q2) roars to life. Q2 is where the fastest riders from the practice sessions and the top two from Q1 go head-to-head in a quest for pole position. Securing pole position is a significant advantage in MotoGP, as it grants the rider the best possible starting position for the race.

Sprint Race: 2:00 PM (BST), 18:30 PM (IST)

In the afternoon, the excitement continues with the Sprint Race at 2:00 PM BST. The sprint race, a new addition for this season, adds an extra layer of thrill to the MotoGP weekend. It’s a twelve-lap dash where riders will push their machines to the limit for a shot at victory.

What To Expect

The 2023 Catalan Grand Prix is already living up to expectations, with Francesco Bagnaia holding a commanding 62-point lead in the championship. Bagnaia’s dominance this season, with five Grand Prix victories and four sprint race wins, has made him a formidable force.

With the potential for rain showers on the horizon, the unpredictability factor adds even more drama to the race. MotoGP fans can expect a day filled with intense battles, high-speed action, and thrilling maneuvers as riders compete for pole positions and supremacy. So, gear up for an adrenaline-packed day of MotoGP action as the Catalan Grand Prix unfolds.

With practices, qualifying sessions, and the exciting Sprint Race, Saturday promises to be a thrilling chapter in the 2023 MotoGP season. Don’t miss a moment of the action as riders push the limits on the track. Enjoy the ride!
