Carlos Sainz insists “no truth” to reports he has turned down Audi F1 offer

6 months ago By Sports Desk

Carlos Sainz Jr., Spanish Formula 1 driver, came out publicly to deny rumors that he had rejected an offer from the Audi team to compete in this category. Following the news that Ferrari had signed Lewis Hamilton to partner Charles Leclerc from 2025, many eyes turned to Sainz in search of his next F1 destination.

Speculation of a possible move to Audi grew, especially after reports suggested Sainz had turned down a lucrative offer from the German team. However, Sainz himself came out publicly to deny these accusations, stating categorically that “there is no truth in it”.

Speaking to the press during the Miami Grand Prix, Sainz made it clear that he is still evaluating his options and that no final decision has been made. He emphasized that there are external factors that influence this decision and that he is in constant conversation with various interested parties.

One of the reasons for Sainz’s possible move to Audi is his family’s strong connection to the brand. His father, Carlos Sainz Sr., is a well-known racing driver and won the 2024 Dakar Rally for Audi. However, Sainz Jr. emphasized that there are more factors involved in his decision than just these family ties.

Furthermore, Sainz expressed his admiration for Audi’s Formula 1 project and recognized the team’s potential to achieve success in the category. He praised the signing of Nico Hulkenberg as the team’s driver and expressed his confidence in Audi’s ability to compete at the highest level of F1.

However, Sainz also stressed that his final decision will depend on several factors, including the competitiveness of the car and the environment within the team. He emphasized that to date he has received no assurance from Audi that they would wait for his decision before proceeding with another driver.

Carlos Sainz’s quest for a place in Formula 1 continues, and his final decision will certainly be eagerly awaited by fans and the racing community. Meanwhile, the Spanish driver remains focused on his performances on the track and is determined to find the best opportunity to continue his career in the top category of world motorsport.
