Gresini Firm on Yamaha Satellite Team Rejection for 2025

6 months ago By Sports Desk

Team Gresini is firm in its decision to turn down the opportunity to become a Yamaha satellite team for the 2025 MotoGP season. Gresini joins Yamaha next year.

With Yamaha desperate for a satellite team to increase the number of participants and speed up data collection, speculation about possible partnerships has been intense. However, Gresini, currently with the Marquez brothers, Marc and Alex, under contract with Ducati until the end of 2025, chose to remain loyal to the Italian manufacturer.

Despite rumors of a possible exit clause in Gresini’s contract with Ducati, Padovani was clear in her answer when asked about the possibility of a move to Yamaha: “No, none.” This solid decision by the Gresini team reflects its confidence in the partnership with Ducati and its determination to remain true to the existing agreement.

Meanwhile, the MotoGP rider market is buzzing, with the Marquez brothers, both out of contract at the end of this season, generating considerable interest. Eight-time world champion Marc Marquez has expressed his desire for a factory bike for next year, and has strongly indicated his interest in riding for a factory team.

However, negotiations over the future of Marc Marquez are still ongoing, with Padovani noting that he would like to re-sign the Spaniard, but that his current contract is only for one year. The uncertainty surrounding Marquez’s future adds an exciting element to the motoGP market, leaving fans eager for further developments.
As the MotoGP season continues, fans are eagerly waiting to see how contract negotiations will go and which teams will emerge as Yamaha’s partners.

Meanwhile, the Gresini team’s firm decision to reject Yamaha’s offer underlines its determination to maintain its identity and loyalty to Ducati.
